World Summit
The main aim of the summit was to try and get around 90% of the worlds population started in the world of IT. this is quite a goal to achieve and will take a lot of work. Bad points of this summit were only 40 heads of nations showed up for the summit. Also trying to get so many nations to agree on one thing is quite difficult.Posative points are that the world is trying to agree on something and work together to connect the whole human race on the internet.Personally, from the limited information i think that the summit could have gone better but its a start, we can't expec thuge thing slike this to be settled and action taken instantly.
i had to copy and paste this again because the blog stopped working therefore all of my changes have not appeared!

email the solomans
The BBC report on the use of ICT in the Soloman islands is obvious that there is a digital divide throughout the islands. Althought odds are against them, they people who live on them are starting to get more into IT because it will help them in many diferent ways. Having the community using internet services is a strat, then soon once everyone has got used to using the IT they may be able to use it freely or get their own. Their divigtal divide problem might have started because of the isolation of their islands. Wireless internet can start to solve these problems as its only been around for a few years and can be expensive, espacially for a country that is still developing. and hopefully soon the islands will be connected.
laos
Laos has quite a big digital divide but also has a few random/ bizzare cases of destered places with no good standard electricity having IT and internet access. Problems that have caused the divide are that the terrain is hilly / mountinous and it is hard to get signals into some of the country. Also there is a lot of rainfall and monsoon weather which can break equipment like ariels. A lot of people are willing to get into IT but some cant. At the moment most people are using text messaging to communicate.A lot of the power is: 'Peadal Powered' generator has been instlled in a village so they can run computers, it is water proof and sturdy so its safe from the weather. Also a charaity has set up in schools to help people learn about IT and its uses. I beleive that once more people in Laos learn how to use IT then the digital divide it has now will decrease, and eventually all of the less econically developed places will not be digitally divided.

changes in access
http://www.itu.int/ITU-D/ict/dai/index.html
Fiiji, a Small Island Developing State (SIDS), is at a crossroads in its ICT evolution. The country's relative position in telecommunication penetration rankings has been declining over the last 30 years and to catch up, it needs to fully exploit the advantages it has. This include its strategic location in the Pacific and the fact that it headquarters of a number of regional organizations. Another strength is its English-speaking, literate population and the presence of the University of the South Pacific, a major regional tertiary educational institution. The decision to connect to the Southern Cross fibre optic undersea cable was forward looking and ensures the country an ample supply of bandwidth. It now needs the applications, services and growing market to exploit this.
Major barriers to becoming an information society are the lack of awareness about the benefits of ICTs to meet development needs, limited infrastructure, especially in rural areas, and the country's long-term telecommunication monopoly. The fact that there are different operators for each telecommunication segment (local, mobile, international and Internet) adds to higher pricing. With this market situation Fiji is missing the benefits that a more competitive telecom market would provide such as lower prices, better quality, enhanced innovation and greater customer focus. Fiji's mobile peak time call charges, for example, are among the highest in the world and given the current levels of coverage and tariffs mobile penetration (at around eleven percent) is probably close to saturation. Market liberalization and sector reform are crucial. A new telecommunication bill, calling for the establishment of a telecommunication regulator and a licensing framework, are under preparation.
In the ITU's Digital Access Index, which ranks 178 countries according to their ability to access ICTs, Fiji falls into the middle of the medium access group and ranks 85th. It compares well in terms of knowledge and affordability due to its relatively high literacy and school enrolment and flat rate local call pricing for dial-up Internet access. It does less well in infrastructure, usage and quality.
http://www.itu.int/ITU-D/ict/cs/fiji/index.html
Vietnam is one of the major emerging markets of the ASEAN region and one of the underpinnings of this growth has been the expansion in telecommunication networks. Over the past five years, Vietnam has sustained an average fixed line network growth of 26.8 per cent, slightly ahead of China and one of the highest in the region. While the country’s domestic fixed-line network has grown rapidly, mobile communications developments are less impressive. Despite the fact that mobile services were introduced in 1992, and even though it is one of the first parts of the sector where competition and private sector participation has been allowed, Vietnam has one of the lowest ratios of mobile to fixed line subscribers in South East Asia.
The government has attempted to reconcile the essentially free-market character of the Internet with a national system based on state control. Only few countries are protected by a national firewall or apply such tight licensing regulations to the ISP market, which is still largely state-owned in Vietnam. Despite a late start, (the Internet was first permitted in Vietnam in November1997), the dramatic growth that has marked the Internet in other countries is apparent also in Vietnam. During 2000, the number of dial-up Internet subscribers grew from just 42’000 to over 100’000, a growth rate of almost 150 per cent. An ITU mission, including Michael Minges, Tim Kelly, and Lara Srivastava, was carried out in Hanoi and in Ho Chi Minh City from May 14-17. The mission was coordinated with the Vietnam Department General of Posts and Telecommunications (DGPT).

Reducing the divide
reducing the divide between the poorest nations and the richest is a step in the right direction because of soooooo many reason which i will go into detail about.
the advantages of reducing the divide are showing people different ways of life which could better their situation making them make changes in the way they live e.g. looking at cooking recipies and better ways to build houses etc.
this will allow the less fortunate to be online like everyone else and learn skills and maybe develop their IQ but also help them.
bridging the gap would mean a better life for them because of the better quality of living, better facilities also they would be able to connect with people much more easier.
computer aid do good and bad in different cultures because they help the people but destroy the environment by taking down trees and destroying crops where the electrical cables and lines have to be placed for the connection.

the digital divide
http://www.africaguide.com/afmap.htm
the link is to the map of africa, where you will see the countries that are part of the digital divide.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/special_report/1999/10/99/information_rich_information_poor/471891.stm
this link is a case-study on burkino fasso about their struggle on the digital divide.
many of the central African countries are on the wrong side of the digital divide because of their location, wealth, infrastructure and general knowledge about electical devices.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Global_Digital_Divide1.png
this link show the image of the world and the ratio of computers per 100 people in that certain country.
this shows that the less economically developed countries do not have the correct facilities to hold computers let alone even run them due to the lack of finances. the financial part of this is massive because it would cost millions of punds to develop these african countries and to maintain them etc...

world summit part 1
the aim of the world summit of 170 countries was "the first constitution for the information age".
"The documents reflect the growing awareness of leaders of the political, economic and social impact of the internet and other communication technologies". this was said by BBC news.
"The declaration of principles and action plan adopted at the summit set ambitious goals to ensure that more than half of the world has access to some form of electronic media by 2015". this is the main objective
the most negative point to come out of the world summit is that over 90% of the world therefore they will not see the change in the digital economy because they arnt on the net.
"And exactly how to bring these digital resources within the reach of the 90% of the Earth's population currently offline proved too much for the summit".
this basically says that only a very small amount of people can feel the effect of the change...
much more to come..

Monitoring internet and email use
the advantages of this content monitoring system are that it keeps a close eye on all of their employees and it can see whether they are actually working etc... with filtering their employees emails is a good way to see if they are serious about their job instead o flooking at other jobs etc. with blocking websites such as pornography etc is good because the company shows a hard working ethic which could appeal to people.
the negative impacts could be that the employees could be against their bosses looking at their emails and internet history because it is their private life and they want to keep it to themselves. they could see this as they are ebing invaded by people into their priovate life.
this system can be used by schools for various reasons because of many things availble to them on the internet such as pornography and other certain material on the internet. the police could look into peoples' email accounts to find pieces of evidence for a crime etc, this would have to be given permission obviously before they search their account.

arrive alive GPS system
to be honest with this whole scheme.. its good to see where they are but it cannot stop them from speeding or crashing. its purely to see where they are... how can they see what they are doing in their car whether they are driving on the wrong side of the road etc.. the parents must trust their child with their driving because if they passed the test then they should be entitled to drive on the road becausr they have passed a national test! therefore it is up to them how they drive a gps system cannot so anything to stop them being themselves.!

Pro's and Con's of ID cards...
the ict proposal of the ID card scheme is needed is one big database full of everyones data. this would be good because all of the data on the base would be backed up etc so it won't be lost...
with the initial idea of these cards... where would we exactly use them? will we be the only country that uses them and would this be a disadvantage?
the main reason for an ID card would be the main deason as identification... but people have passports, provisionals and driving lisences.. i mean would there be any point in ANOTHER card to be put in the wallet? especially if you had to pay for it anyway.
however according tyo the home office: "ID cards will provide an easy and secure way for legal UK residents to prove who they are when they apply for services at private businesses, or for government benefits".
this is true against illegal immigrants that come in the country and work illegally. this is a good idea however if this happens then the government should take away certain identity cards because there will be too many... the drawbacks of the system would be fraud because at the moment there have been cases about identity theft and pin and chip theft... these systems are evry hard to crack but they have been tackled which is a big worry.
all it needs is someone to lose it and a russian gangstar can fraud these and sell them to polish and latvian imigrants for thousands of pounds.. it will slow down the rate of immigrants but it will not completly stop it.
i believe we should have these cards but other cards should be stopped.. because if the id card has all of the important information should eb on the ID card anyway...such as a driving permit etc...

information overload...
everyone in IT, serve in the so-called Information Age, need to develop skills for managing information overload. This condition results from having a rapid rate of growth in the amount of information available, while days remain 24 hours long and our brains remain in roughly the same state of development as they were when cavemen communicated by scrawling messages in stone. but nowadays it communications can change everyday day and people need to keep up with different types of software that can help them keep all of their information. such as spreadsheets, where all the information is kept on the same page.. it can be put under different headings etc.. this is easier than having one singal document for each, also the spreadsheet can be easily updated.
data minig tools can be used in emails: when an admin person gets 100 emails everyday andd they only want to read on specific email they would have to look through every single one... but with a mining tool they would only have to type in what they want and they wil find it.Filtering e-mail or using such techniques as color-coding information is one strategy.

making choices...
the mobile phones availible are endless but the recommended tariffs id suggest would be: O2, Vodafone and Orange. i shall visit these websites and find the best deals for the same mobile phone and compare them.
02: http://shop.o2.co.uk/tariffs
i found a pink Samsung G600. £35 per month, 600mins, 1000texts, Phone FREE.
Vodafone: http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/mobile-phones/pay-monthly/samsung/g600/
FREE
Phone £30
Per month 700 250 Best value offer save £90. Get £5 off per month when you buy online.
Orange: http://www.search.orange.com/en/?mot=samsung+g600
didnt have any results...
Carphone warehouse: http://shop.carphonewarehouse.com/pay-monthly/%22
there are a range of phones and deals but all on different tariffs...
i believe the samsung G600 would be a good choice for grandma because its easy to navigate.. its bright and they're relatively cheap. however it would be better getting a pay as you go.. but the phone would be quite expensive.. where as the contract would give her free texts, minutes at a fixed rate at the end of the month.
therefore the research i have done proves that different websites charge different amount for different deals. this means looking around would be the best idea.

Impact of games players
computer games are so popular because they are easily availible to children. this means they grow up around games and like to play on consoles because they are very appealing to them due to their age... also the graphics of the consoles make it better and make it more realistic.
computer games i believe do not make you more violent because it may put you in a mind set but it will not brainwash you and turn you into a maniac... games like GTA and MANHUNT have been in the media's eye for raising violence between children however they shouldnt be playing these games anyway because it strictly says only over 18's on the cover. its the same with alcohol, would you let your 12 year old have a drink of JD and coke? a pint of lager? i think the answer would be no... its the same principle, its the law.
nowadays computer games do not make people isolated because of things liek xbox live etc... call of duty allows you to interact with other players around the world and allow you to establish good communication skills etc.. this links with the next question about being social... i think it is being more social because you are mixing with different people with different backgrounds and different walks of life.

the use of mobile phones...
many people use their mobile phones for many reasons, they use it for work purposes, to be contacted by people and just in general if they are out and need it for emergency or whatever... there are many purposes for these. i use my mobile all of the time, texting and phoning people, playing music, watching videos. i sue my mobile phone all of the time... usually when im bored i'd text someone, or to arrange when im going out etc.. but sometime i do that on microsoft messenger.
the major benefits of suing my mobile phone my bill comes monthly so i can pay for it then when i get my wages rather than carrying coins to use pay phones. however the disadvantages are that sometime my phone runs out of battery... it can lose signal so then i cannot contact anyone.
my phone does fulfill its purposes by being able to recieve and send texts, and same with phone calls.

pirate entertainment
the advantages of using Apple's I-tunes are that you are paying for a good quality piece of music also you know the money is not being leaked out of the business. also they are the correct songs that you searched for because on other illegal download sites. also they are free from virus' unlike some 'dirty' downloads you may find in illegal download ports.
Buying dvd's from market stalls are not a good idea because they are not even worth 10 pence due to the type of quality etc... the money made from the priate Dvd's go into the terrorism trade and promotes it. the dvd's are not worth it, you may aswell go and rent the film from blockbuster or go to the cinema because the rates they charge are quite high for a film you're going to see for the forst 20 seconds.
when downloading the latest hollywood blockbuster, you must be mad!! because: the quality is rubbish, the sound is all fuzzy, you can hear people in the cinema, people get in the way and the filming is shocking! therefore it is a waste of time even trying to find it until the film actually comes out.
this is the same when visiting illicit music downloading sites because you can download things that are named the same but have to relevance to the title at all.. it may not even be the correct band...
I believe that illegal downloading does hinder peoples chances of making it to the big time as a music artist because when more and mor epeople enter illegal downlaoding no money is going to the artist and more people are scrapping cd's etc so hardly any money will be going into that.

Analysing the “good old days”
small business' can replace paper by using Microsoft Excell. this piece of software is excellent for people to use for various reasons because they can adapt excell to do anything they want. they can use excell to their advantage because it is easy and simple to use and it keeps all of the data they want to put on the spreadsheet.
another piece of softweare that could be used would be: microsoft access. this application is similar to EXCELL but layed out differently. however microsoft word is not an ideal piece of software to use because of it not allowing calculations tgherefore it is not great for a compnay dealing with prices etc.
both of these pieces of software have many advantages but some disadvantages... the advantages are: keeps all of the information togther, it can create equations to add and sub-tract numbers which means that projected sales etc can be worked out easier.. also the information can be updated easily than having to keep swapping and changing sheets of paper etc. also information can be lost however it is backed up by the PC. with the use of these peices of software items can be changed and updated easier than it would be on a piece of paper... also items can be emailed to other buyers.. and people in the company. the software can detect errors that are processed in the software. also using a computer is easier and quicker.
the use of a spread sheet over a data base would be that all the information is updated regularly and it is kept together with its simple layout.
the secretaries are affected because they wouldnt know how to work these spreadsheets fluently therefore it would take more time but it would be better in the long run because they would know how to use better software.
new jobs could have been marketing sales, finance conultants etc. these jobs are needed in everyday life because more jobs use ICT.

both of these pieces of software have many advantages but some disadvantages... the advantages are: keeps all of the information togther, it can create equations to add and sub-tract numbers which means that projected sales etc can be worked out easier.. also the information can be updated easily than having to keep swapping and changing sheets of paper etc. also information can be lost however it is backed up by the PC. with the use of these peices of software items can be changed and updated easier than it would be on a piece of paper... also items can be emailed to other buyers.. and people in the company. the software can detect errors that are processed in the software. also using a computer is easier and quicker.
the use of a spread sheet over a data base would be that all the information is updated regularly and it is kept together with its simple layout.
the secretaries are affected because they wouldnt know how to work these spreadsheets fluently therefore it would take more time but it would be better in the long run because they would know how to use better software.

Tool man ***new***
John is living in the 'dark age' by not using IT technology... however his business can be boosted by the use of technological 'gadgets'.
firstly instead of John travelling all the time he may well set up a website to sell his tools.. then this can broaden his client range and everyone can see his stock... this means he doesnt have to be on the road everyday because he can control it from his own home. Also when travelling he may need a laptop which can be plugged into the elctrical supply in his vehicle and he could replace all of the A-Z's with satelite navigational system (sat nav)which will be more accurate and less time consuming. with using laptop he can keep his stock levels and admnistration up to date as he goes then he will not have to use more time on a friday. also with this he can show clients again on his own website the merchandise he has instead of the catalogue.. also his mobile phone and laptop will have a calculator on them which replaces the calculator.
these are the ways his business will be boosted by technology.
however he will need maybe a usb memory stick to keep things.. details and such on them because if he gets a problem with his laptop he will need a back up... this means he may still have to carry around his catalogue etc.. but it minimises space in the car therefore he will be saving money on petrol because of the excess weight out of the vehicle...

Downloading services ***NEW***
At home downloading is the easiest and cheapest way to view or listen to the media that you want... you can download from places like: limewire, I-tunes and many media download centres on the internet.
there are so many download sites that my family use for entertainment etc.
however some sites like limewire and pirate bay are illegal because you are downloading illegal files that have not been legalised or had the rights to be put on the site by the pulisher... therefore legal action could be made for downloading it.
I-tunes is a website and a music torrent where you can pay for songs and have your own I-tunes libary that only you can access... you can pay for songs, albums and videos and these go into the libary.
however there are many illegal downloading sites all aroudn the world where people upload the latest tv shows or songs or even albums that havent had the rights brought... therefore people are being part of the black-market of downloads.. haha.
but yes it is an easier way of getting stuff instead of going to the shops.. but you can still order items off of places such as HMV, amazon and zavvi...

Online entertainment
in the past 3 months i have used these websites for online entertainment:
www.youtube.com
www.secondlife.com
www.extreme.com
www.scuzzstuff.org
www.bbc.co.uk/sport
www.skysports.co.uk
www.animationfactory.com
i rarely go on entertainment websites because i don't really have time to on these types of websites however all of the information and entertainment on these sites very and can appeal to anyones taste... especially on youtube because there are many videos and animations that can be seen. im sure many people have visited youtube.com and they regularly use it.

Learning Object
once again the school is at fault.. the internet/ school will not let me access this site: http://http//www.adobe.com/macromedia/events/online/ondemand/index.html i do not know why? this has stopped me from finishing my research and the internet being painfully slow is a big problem. therfore i will have to do this in my own time because the computer will not let me access it.
i will be suprised if it lets me finish my work and lets me post this article.

Virtual classroom
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatconnectpro/elearning/virtualclassroom.html
the macromedia/ adobe virtual class room is excellent because of the amount of information it contains.. also it brings many people togetehr who want to learn about the same subject as it were.
the virtual classroom offers more help than a teacher can give you.. there are more solutions to the answer than a simple answer. also if you do not get the question the person can ask for help and they will get it..
anyway this can be a hinder to some people because they may not have certain software that may not allow the virtual classroom to run because of the out dated software.
anwyays.. thumbs up for the virtual classroom.

NetFrog-
http://frog.edschool.virginia.edu/Frog1/menu.html
first, i'd like to say.. this website is out of date. what i mean by this is that there are no moving animations, the website is very dull and boring (no colour, all leftsided, all monotone). if i was into dissecting frogs.. i wouldnt even want to do anymore because i would have fallen asleep due to the website. however the website is very informative making dissecting a frog very easy with short simple and understandable sentences. which for someone to follow are very good. also the images are fairly blurry.. but the are elidgeable which are a great use to people because they know where to make an incision.

http://www.makingthemodernworld.org.uk
http://www.makingthemodernworld.org.uk this website is apart of the science museums online learning centre for A-level students... here i will be evaluating the site against its purpose and looking at what it teaches us about online learning...
This website is good for quick and understanable background learning.. however it does not contain great detail about the topics e.g. there is only a limited amount of text on each page also there are no text on some which means there has to be an audio player where someone may need speakers.. as i said before about not containing much about certain topics.. it does contain vital information about the history of computers and how they have
But however.. it shows largely how our world is adapting to online learning and how many people are privaliged enough to use the computers to read about their chosen topics and this informaion many people are reading can be changed and updated if new discoveries are found...
the website is great because it can be easily navigated around there are many links to different pages.. which is great because it saves everyone getting stressed about losing the page where they found their information about the history of computres.. where they need the address for their bibliography..

Online banking services
the main purposes of online are banking are that so people can manage their accounts without enldess meetings with banks managers and they can do it all online with a few easy clicks... its target audiences are for people with not much time to go to the bank and lead busy lives.
natwest banking- advantages
http://www.natwest.com/personal/online-banking/g1/benefits-features.ashx
Stay on top of your finances - check your balances, statements and account details; which are updated in real time
Know your limit - never lose track of your spending again. Check and pay your NatWest credit cards online

Go back in time - check and print statements up to six months old
Move your money – transfer money instantly between most of your NatWest accounts
Easy being green – turn off your paper statements
Halifax banking- advantages
http://www.halifax.co.uk/aboutonline/whybankonline.asp
Top reasons to use online banking:
1. Save time – no more rushing around to pay your bills at lunchtime
2. Bank when it suits you – your own branch open 24/7, 365 days a year
3. It's secure – all our registered customers are covered by our online guarantee.
4. It's easy to use – there's a handy demo to show you how to use our most popular services including how to pay bills. 5. Paper-free documents – You can receive all your statements and letters online, and store them securely for up to 2 years. 6. It puts you in control – see what's going on at a glance
online banking could be improved in the future by having everyone having an online account.. therfore this would minimize the amount of banks... because i dont think too many people use banks nowadays.. because of new online services! the online service would be able to plan out the expendature and income of money every month and work out and average for each month.. this would help people.. also maybe giving advice to people on how they should use their money to pay bills..
this is the future...

www.ebay.ie document
www.ebay.ie 's major purpose is to help sell second-hand products online. where people can sell their own good online without their own website. this site is for selling purposes only, apart from some people want an exhange with automobiles etc... ebay's target audience if for people who can buy items using their plastic debit cards or credit cards... the auction process works by people who have ebay accounts bid for items and they can also watch items for a few days to see how many bidders etc are viewing the item. the item can be put up for auction for as many days as the seller would like and at the end of the auction the highest bidder wins the item.. unless the seller has put a reserve price on the item then if the price does not meet the reserve the item is not sold.
this is an excellent website because people can buy items that are very expensive can be bought for less. there are many people who use this website.. also there are areas on peoples account where other users can leave feedback where people can read to see if buiying an item from this person is good or not.
this website is so successfull because so many people use it around the world that the website is worked on all of the time making it easier for people because of real time information.

My journey from home to Tottenham Court London
train from Portsmouth Harbour to London waterloo:
depart 12.30 arrive at london waterloo 14.29
then: Bus#1 Canada Water to Tottenham Court Road Station Centre Point.
estimated arrival 14.45
return: £18.50- train
return: £3.50- bus
http://www.southwesttrains.co.uk/
http://www.raileurope.com/us/train_stations/waterloo.htm
Car: http://www.theaa.com/travelwatch/inc/planner_places_redirect.jsp
depart 12.30
arrive 14.45
Southwest trains' website is very good with good informative information on it for example you can click on links which show the expected delays and rail works that are happening and when they are expected to stop. i found real time information on the SWT website, it was the platform and the expected delay for the train. this is important information because you may have to change train or route if you need to get there quicker.
AA route planner was good because it gave you all of the directions and allowed you to chose whether you went on the motorways or not.. also it gave you a map on where the speed cameras are so the driver is not caught out. however i couldnt find any real time information on the website such as expected delays such as, crashes, congestion etc.
therefore there is a difference between these websites because train times are very important because they are a public service and people rely on the expected times of the public services. where as the AA route planner is not public transport therefore is doesnt need real time information. although the website would be used much more it would be better because people would be able to find out recent news on the UK's roads.
the weather today from the forecats on www.bbc.co.uk/weather clear, skies, sunny and around 17°C degrees highs of 20°C

The digital divide between LEDC's and MEDC's
in 2004 a tsunami hit south east asia by suprise. however it wasn't a suprise to those in america because the had the technology that detected the earthquake 3 hours before the tsnunami struck. the american's couldnt send the warning out quick enough to warn south east asia about it because they didnt have a warning system, alert email and no network sensoring. this is because they hadnt had the correct funding to "fund" these digitally working devices because as a coutnry they still are an LEDC and they do not have the infrastructure to hold many tele-communicational devices because of the lack of funding, sciences and knowledge.
although emails are sent quickly they had recieved this befiore the tsunami struck so the authorities were able to evacuate quick enough.
there were many websites, forums, special reports on websites such as: www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2004/tsunami.disaster
http://www.savethechildren.org.uk/
www.teakdoor.com/the-multimedia-forum/30383-tsunami-2004-videos.html
these are just only a few websites that have information about the tsunami.. there were many forums set up on the 26th december with people chatting about the disaster and many people were worried about friends and relatives and wanted to know to see if they were ok..
also sky news placed a ticker on their news screen to show people that victims were alive.
and websites uploaded photos onto a website to show survivors.
this brought everyone together via the internet because everyone was searching for the same thing. modern services were used rather than old ones because the newer services held a higher standard and were better technologically.
all of these above show the digital divide between LEDC's and MEDC's...
every country should have a warning system and and alert system to alert people of their country of potential dangers so they can be less fatalities but as a whole all countries will be able to communicate between cities or towns.
because it would minimize risk and stop the horrific images of 2004 be the end of it.

school blockers part 2
my results found that i cannot access any website that has any results on them because i wasn't allowed access to them... which states that my work is being de-graded because of the school blockers.
school blockers
school blockers are really tight on what type of material is allowed to be viewed because i am doing research on "digital divide" at the moment and i am hardly getting and results because the blocker will not allow me access to the site.
therefore it is harder to gain sufficient evidence for my independant work.

boredom
i was using myspace.com also i was on facebook.com and i have noticed how much facebook has grown and a free online service where as hardly anyone is using myspace anymore because facebook is easier to use and many more people are on there.
myspace.com is trying to become like facebook because it has lost popularity compared facebook.
facebook is so much better because it is easier to set up and navigate around, myspace is too complex and needs hours of attention./

SMS and Email
The purpose and functionality between SMS and Email are different.
SMS can be put into short hand 'text' speak... Where as Emails can be very informative and formal which is different to SMS, also the amount of text characters between SMS and Email are different because SMS have allocated amounts of text characters which are very small compared to email.
As a group (me, louis and ryan) found this out.
